FIVE DOCK RSL CLUB

Welcome: D’Arcy McDonald – New teacher at CODE.

 

  1. Welcome and Studio feedback

Amber Perry has retired from HKWH and CODE has taken over the Thursday classes.

 

  1. Charity Registration – Report.

Good start to the year with $18,528.25 credit.

2024 – Expenses = $22,248.58

2024 –  Income  = $31,854

 

  1. Membership – As agreed at last year’s meeting:
  • A studio registration fee of $100 per year will cover all teachers at your studio.

thank you to studios who included this payment with their entry fees. Remember as a non-for-profit organisation we cannot charge a membership fee. There is no GST charges on any CBAA entry fees or medal fees.

Happy to report that some changes were made this weekend and I will continue to get everything up to date. The icons have the syllabus and other information updated. The rest will be coming soon. – Dates need to be updated and studios added.

 

  1. DANCE EVENTS:
  • Dance Festival – – Redgum Function Centre

Sat 24th and Sun 25th May

2 Lane St. Wentworthville.

Solos, Duos, Trios, Small Groups

Try to include all dance styles.

Entry fees: $5 per dance. $15 family admission (4 dances + family. = $35)

OPEN & CLASS TRAINED.

Duos, Trios & Small Groups – all OPEN sections

 

Discussion:   Closing date – Friday 18th April

Music – as soon as I finish the timetable so that numbers and sections can be included.

Age taken from competition date

No  Increase in Entry fees

Register DOB  – teachers must be ready to give DOB if inquiry is made.

 

Adjudicators – TBF

Filming – video of the Sunday sections.

New numbers – only used on class trained where there is two or more performers.

Kitchen area used for numbers.

Thank you to Patricia for organising Coffee Van again for our functions at Redgum

Adjudicators Table to be raised – Hopefully we can use the Drama Boxes.

 

NEW LEVEL TO BE INCLUDED:

CLASS TRAINED– remains for pupils who do not have private lessons and have not won a first place in the C/T section.

 

STEP -UP – to be available for pupils who:

May have just started private lessons

may have regukar private lessons,

may dance in district Eisteddfods but have not been placed

have won a place in C/T

could be strong C/T pupils that need more conpetition

BUT- not up to the OPEN standard as yet

To be used to help performers reach the OPEN standard.

Any performer who has placed in a Trophy Award is ineligible for this section

 

IT WILL BE THE TEACHERS RESPONSIBIITY TO CHOOSE THE PUPILS FOR THIS SECTION.

 

OPEN:  Pupils who have private lessons, may dance regularly in district eisteddfods

confident performers who have performed in Open sections.

  • Sat 13th & Sun 14th September – Five Dock RSL Club
  • Each day has to finish by 5pm

Entry fees: $8 per dance  $15 per family Trophies

Second Chance to Dance. –  duo, trio, small group not solos.

Duo, Trio, Small Group to be in the morning session and then Trophy Awards in the afternoon.

Different Adjudicators for each session.

 

Saturday – Juvenile and Junior Age Groups – under 11’s

Sunday – Intermediate and senior Age Groups – 12years and over.

 

Final Decision to be made by Closing Date  – Friday 9th August  – if not enough interest. – we will go back to one day Trophy Day on Sunday.

  • Looking at 26th OCTOBER

Age taken on performance date – average age of group but no more than 2 performers older than age group.

More comments from Adjudicators  – encouragement, telling performers what they are looking for in a performance. Comment of good standard.

 

More Encouragement certificates awarded to non-place winners.

Suggested:   Stunning Dance Costume, Great Dance Personality, Good Dance Expression,

 

 

MERCHANDISE: Kate looking at setting up a stand in the foyer to sell Dance and other niknaks

That children might like.

 

Celebrating the 45 years of CBAA with a 4 DAY cruise

Leave form SYDNEY – include a workshop, concert and cocktail party.

Emma and D’Arcy to gather information for Studios.
